The Mercedes-Benz GLS is Mercedes’ flagship luxury SUV in India, blending the comfort of a high-end sedan with the practicality of a full-sized SUV. Since its introduction, the GLS has seen multiple updates in terms of design, features, and performance, with the latest 2024 model offering significant refinements.

The exterior has subtle yet impactful changes, including a redesigned front grille and updated LED headlights and taillights. Inside, the GLS embraces premium Maybach-inspired touches, such as chrome-lined air vents, a pinstriped dashboard, and a new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls. The 2024 model includes five-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and top-notch seating arrangements with heated, ventilated, and memory settings for front-row seats. Under the hood, the GLS comes with two engine options. The GLS 450 petrol variant offers 395 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, while the GLS 450d diesel variant generates 384 horsepower and an impressive 950 Nm of torque. Both engines feature a 48V mild-hybrid assist and pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, making the GLS both powerful and efficient. The SUV is equipped with Mercedes’ AIRMATIC suspension system, designed for a smooth ride even on rugged terrains, enhanced by features like the Transparent Bonnet for off-road visibility.

Priced around ₹1.32 crore for the petrol and ₹1.37 crore for the diesel variant, the GLS competes with models like the BMW X7 and Audi Q7, establishing itself as a blend of comfort, space, and technology ideal for Indian luxury SUV buyers.
