The Jaguar XF, a popular luxury sedan in India since its debut, has seen various enhancements over the years from 2014 to 2024, reflecting its commitment to performance and luxury. Jaguar introduced the XF with both petrol and diesel options, initially featuring the 2.0-liter Ingenium engines across variants. The petrol engine typically generated around 237 horsepower, while the diesel variant offered 177 horsepower, with both engines paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
In 2016, Jaguar launched the second-generation XF in India, redesigned with a lighter aluminum structure, making it about 190 kg lighter than its predecessor. This iteration brought improved handling, efficiency, and cabin space, along with advanced features such as adaptive LED headlights, a larger infotainment system, and enhanced rear legroom and knee room for passenger comfort. Notably, Jaguar began local assembly in 2017, making the XF more competitively priced with a starting cost of approximately ₹47.5 lakh, while higher trims like the Prestige and Portfolio versions included additional luxury elements such as advanced infotainment and larger alloy wheels.
The XF’s 2021 update brought a revised exterior with new grille and bumper designs, as well as interior upgrades like an 11.4-inch touchscreen with Jaguar’s Pivi Pro infotainment system, which supported both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Premium features such as a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and ambient lighting also added to its appeal. These improvements helped the XF maintain its competitive edge in India’s luxury sedan market, where it rivaled models like the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E-Class, and Audi A6.
